THR 8 Days: Rwanda Primate Watching Tours and safaris
Day 1 : Kigali Ruhengeri
You will be picked from your Hotel Kigali or at the airport on arrival and be driven to
Ruhengeri. Overnight at Montain Gorilla Forest Nest Hotel in Ruhengeri or stay night at Kinigi Guest Housel.
Day 2: Gorila tracking
Gorilla tracking in Parc de Volcanoes. Morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be driven to the park offices for briefing. You will be allocated different families to track. To make sure that most of the students track in same families, you need to be early at the park offices so that allocation is done first for your group. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful manner. Return to your Overnight Kigali.
Day 3: Golden Monkeys /Diana Fossey
Morning visit golden monkeys or diana Fossey Research station at Kausoke or visist communities. Overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to nyungwe Forest Park
Drive to Nyungwe along Lake Kivu the largest of the fresh water lakes in the Albertine (Western) rift of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Kivu stands 1461m (4,790ft) above sea level and is Africa’s highest lake. Proceed to Nyungwe Forest (depends on the road status)or pass via Gitarama . Overnight at
Gisakura Guest House.
Day 5: Natural walksand primate walks
Morning track chimps or nature walk looking for primates. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Kigali
After breakfast, visit Butare a genocide site and communities.
Proceed to Kigali and overnight.
Day 7:Akagera Lodge
After breakfast drive to Akagera National Park check in at Akagera Game Lodge. Carryout morning game drive in the southern sector, animals to see include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and many other mammal species. As one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa, the game drive may be eventful and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 8: Akagera to Kigali
Morning game drive to the northern circuit and proceed to drive to Kigali or transfer Kanombe Airport.
