Uganda Hotels Being Graded ahead of CHOGM
Tourism industry all great in Uganda as Commonwealth summit moves near and near. The tourism ministry has listed graded hotels in Kampala ahead of the Commonwealth heads Of Government Meeting (CHOGM) for November. The assistant commissioner in the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry and head Of CHOGM Preparations, and ministry, Cuthbert Baguma, said hotels where construction and renovation was going on were not graded but still to be considered before the event. Speke Resort Munyonyo, Golf Course, Metropole, Imperial Royale and Emerald hotels are yet to be looked at in the next garding set for September to October Cuthber further added.The grading system will help relate hotels as much as possible with internationally acceptable standards and identify the standard of the hotel, which helps customers to make an informed choice. Grading is also for planning purposes and will help the government know the quality and the standard of its facilities. Hotels are first classified according before the exercise.
Numbers of issues are looked at when grading like; Design of the building, the Aesthetics, Food and hygiene, Human resource, and the Environment. Other features included are the location, the safety, scenery of the area, comfort and tranquility as well as accessibility and the facilities in place like swimming pool, gardens etc. Under the theme, financing gender equality for the development and democracy, the conference will take place at the Speke resort Munyonyo, tourism is yet to benefit as Uganda is show what the pearl of Africa has to offer.
