Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will undertake an official visit to the Republic of Uganda in November for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kampala.
Their Royal Highnesses’ visit will reinforce Britain’s ties with this important Commonwealth partner. It will advance key British Government priorities in the promotion of sustainable development, youth opportunity and environmental protection plus tourism.
The visit is timed to coincide with the bi-annual Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which, as usual, The Queen will attend, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh.
This will provide The Prince of Wales with an opportunity to consolidate and develop further the diplomatic and charitable work of his many official visits to Commonwealth countries through a series of engagements and meetings. Since 1954 The Prince has visited over thirty Commonwealth countries.
This is the first time The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have visited Uganda.
On 11th October Clarence House announced that following on from Their Royal Highnesses’ visit to Uganda.
