5 Day Itinerary for Kibale and Bwindi Parks x 2 Pax
D1 :
Kampala – Fort Portal / Kibale ( 3 – 4 hours)
Travel Hemispheres staff will meet you at your hotel in the morning at 7.00am and drive from Kampala through and be driven to Fort Portal/Kibale . Proceed on road driving in the green countryside on Mityana-Mubende road to Fort Portal. On the way will view some coffee holdings tea plantations and open swamp valleys.
After lunch will have time to visit the crater lakes region, spend the evening viewing these natural wonders and later proceed to your accommodation for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight.
D2 :
Fortportal/ Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast visit Kanyanchu the park headquarter offices for your chimpanzee tracking where you will see other primates like the colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys plus other primates that share this forest with chimpanzees. The park also hosts over 320 species of birds including the yellow spotted nectar, yellow rumped tinker birds etc. It also has colorful butterflies; over 250 species have been spotted. For nature lovers, the dense forest is still intact you can see trees of different species. Track chimps in their natural habitat. Kibale Forest National Park is believed to have most concentration of primates in the world. Over 12 different species of primates including chimps in this park have been recorded. Enjoy a lot plant life with tall tropical tree species.
In the afternoon visit the surrounding- Bigodi swamp or enjoy unique view of crater lakes and other volcanic features. Drive to Fort Portal town and overnight at Toro Resort dinner and overnight.
D3 : Kibale – Bwindi
After breakfast you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National park. Picnic lunch on the way . After continue to Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at Lodge facility picked on.
D4:
Gorilla tracking Bwindi forest national park
This will be day for gorilla tracking. After breakfast with packed lunch, you will be escorted to the starting point of tracking for briefing. Set off early with your guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous track. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park
is often wet. Spend time in awe, watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has it’s own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Return to camp exhilarated to relive the encounter with friends over a drink. Enjoy your dinner and spend the night .
Day 5:
Bwindi – Kampala .
Morning after breakfast check out and be driven to Kampala .Enjoy the Switzerland of Africa terrace attractions of adulating hills. Arrival will be in the evening and be dropped at Kampala. END OF SAFARI
Cost per person will be US$ 1425 staying in Budget accommodation facilities.

5 Days Itinerary for Queen Elizabeth Park and Bwindi
Day 1.

Kampala – Queen Elizabeth park
Morning your driver guide will pick you from hotel at 7.00am. Then will drive to the southern part of the country. Will stop at Equator crossing for lifetime photo taking as you experience standing in both hemispheres at ago. Then continue the drive southwards stopping for other attractions on the way as your guide will be highlighting them. Stop for lunch in Mbarara. After lunch proceed to western part of the country passing vast banana plantations and tea estates. Before descending into the park will view the legendary “mountains of the moon” on clear day. The park is in the western arm of the rift valley and will enjoy nice scenery. The park is dominated by acacia woodland and scrubland and lakes plus riparian forest. Will check in at Institute Hostel. The evening do short game drive or will be at leisure dinner and overnight. FB
Day2.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive to see wildlife animals that habit this park, that include predators lion. leopard and other game elephant, buffalo, and many antelopes etc . Over 500 bird species have been identified here, making it a Mecca for bird-watchers. They include the black bee–eater, 11 different species of kingfisher and several falcons, eagles and other raptors. Queen Elizabeth National is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
After lunch take a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck and stripped jackal, and of-course the several warthogs. Retire to the hostel for dinner and over night FB.
Day 3.
Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi
After breakfast you will be driven to Kyambura gorge for Chimpanzee tracking while on a nature walk. After Kyambura gorge for a primate walk where your will see chimps
and other primates e.g Columbus & velvet monkeys and baboons walk out of the gorge to. After picnic lunch proceed to Bwindi National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas. It is estimated to half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –300 live within these boundaries shared by Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Then drive through the ishasha sector , long but enjoyable. Arrival at Buhoma will be in the evening. You will then settle in at Ruhija Friends Gorilla Campsite which is near the park offices location. Dinner and overnight as you prepare for tomorrow’s event! FB
Day 4.
Gorilla Tracking Bwindi
Morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be escorted to the starting point for briefing by your guide. You will be allocated guides to track gorillas with, and then will be off to begin your adventure. A briefing from your local guides and then it’s off! The time taken and the terrain varies (1- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The thrill of meeting face to face takes away the pain of some times long and arduous trek. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful manner.
After tracking will be driven out from here to spend night at Mbarara town at Hotel classic for overnight stay FB.
You will need to carry long pants like jean type, sturdy shoes to help you hiking steep and slippery slopes, long sleeved shirts and blouses to protect your bodies from thorns and itching plants. You may not rule out raining on you and at least a rain coat is needed to protect your bodies and any equipment carried along with like cameras. Also carry insect repellants and sun cream
Day 5
Mbarara – Entebbe
After early breakfast you will be driven back to Entebbe. Arrive in time for your flight towards 1300hrs. END OF SAFARI
